The former Dutch international played for Ajax in the period 1984-1999. The defender was part of the Ajax youth in the first four years until 1988. In the first team, De Boer won five domestic league (Eredivisie) titles, two domestic (KNVB) cup titles, the 1991-1992 UEFA Cup and above all the 1994–1995 UEFA Champions League. In 1999, he joined FC Barcelona together with his brother Ronald. In January 2004, after half a year at Galatasaray, Turkey, Frank went to Glasgow Rangers where he was reunited with his brother.
Frank de Boer ended his career at two clubs in Qatar (2004-2006). After his active football career, he was a youth and later head coach at Ajax. De Boer was also appointed head coach of the Dutch national team on 23 September 2020. His contract ran until the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but he was thrown out by the KNVB. Or, as stated by Frank and the KNVB (Dutch Football Association), De Boer decided to leave after not achieving the objective to reach at least the quarter-finals at the UEFA Euro 2020.
The number in felt material is present on the bottom of the jacket, which is THE indication of a player item. These numbers were frequently stitched but this was not the case on these jackets. It also has the correct player size (XL) which was worn by the whole first team in the Umbro era.
