Description
A very very special Parma home shirt from 1999, when Parma played and won the Coppa Italia Final. It has Veron (number #11) on the back in felt material. Juan Sebastián Verón is a former Argentinian midfielder who played for Parma only in this 1998-99 season. The previous two seasons (1996-98) he was active at Sampdoria and the next two (1999-01) at S.S. Lazio.
Both the home and away game against co-finalist Fiorentina ended in a draw. Because Parma drew the away match with 2-2, Parma won the Coppa Italia on the away goal rule (the result at home was 1-1, making it 3-3 on aggregate).
There is no photo evidence that confirms the existence of a batch of these shirts but the shirt has all the characteristics of an original and one-of-a-kind item: the Lotto shirt is 100% original and identical to the 1998-1999 Parma home shirt; the “Finale Coppa Italia 1998-1999” writing is stitched below the club crest.
