Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) long-sleeved home shirt as worn in the season 1982-1983.

In the 1980s, PSG decided to play with white shirts in their home matches. It was chairman Francis Borelli who initiated this change from the 1970s, when PSG president and fashion designer Daniel Hechter designed the home shirt as we know it today in the 2020s: a blue shirt with a red vertical stripe in the middle which is flanked by two thinner white stripes (blue-white-red-white-blue).

In the period 1981-1984, PSG wore very similar home shirts which differed only slightly every season. Also within a season there’s evidence that they wore different shirts (e.g. with and without the Le Coq Sportif text underneath the brand logo). Oh oh, the 1980s was so special for football shirts…
