Description
Match worn or issued Napoli long-sleeved home shirt in the 2000-2001 season by Napoli’s number 2 Abdelilah Saber in the Serie A. The league patch is present on the right sleeve.
In 2000, former Moroccan right defender Abdelilah Saber first played for Napoli. He came over from Sporting CP on a loan agreement. At the end of the 2000-2001 season, Napoli decided to buy Saber. He played at the Italian for two more seasons, before leaving to Torino.
In his first season at Napoli, 2000-01, Saber played 18 matches in the Serie A. He only played three matches in 2000 and the rest in 2001. In two of the three matches in 2000, Napoli played in their home kit. In both games Napoli wore short sleeved shirts. Therefore, the shirt sold here is most likely worn or issued in the year 2001.
This was a terrible season in Napoli’s history that many fans probably try to forget: Napoli finished 17th in the Serie A and got relegated to the Serie B.
