This shirt was not worn during the 1990 Men’s World Cup, but it was most likely worn in or issued for one of the many matches the United States men’s national soccer team (USMNT) played in the friendly and official matches of 1989-1991 (they played around 20 in 1989! Photos and videos are lacking of half of these games).
This shirt was also worn by the United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) during the qualification matches of the 1991 Women’s World Cup. And in the friendly matches between 1989-1991. The UWMNT won the World Cup for the first time in their history. Michelle Akers-Stahl wore the number 10 in these years for the national team. She also wore this specific shirt with small number on the front against the Chinese National Women’s team at George Mason Univ on 13 October 1991.
