Match worn/issued Real Madrid home shirt 1993-1994 by #10 (Milla/Prosinečki/Vázquez)

499.99

Match worn or issued Real Madrid home shirt by the club’s number 10 in the season 1993-1994. This number #10 was most frequently worn by Luis Milla, but also by Robert Prosinečki (in both La Liga El Clásicos) and Martín Vázquez.

The 1993-94 season was a challenging one for Real Madrid, finishing 4th in La Liga under Benito Floro, later replaced by Vicente del Bosque as interim coach. Despite talent like Fernando Hierro and Emilio Butragueño, the team lacked consistency and fell short in the title race. In Europe, they were eliminated early from the UEFA Cup, adding to the disappointment. This season highlighted the need for change, setting the stage for a rebuild that would soon bring Madrid back to the top. Madrid still won two prices this season: the Supercopa de España in 1993 (against FC Barcelona) and the Copa Iberoamericana in 1994 (against Boca Juniors).

Luis Milla started his professional career at FC Barcelona in the mid-1980s, and after a few years he was part of Johan Cruyff’s squad. However, in 1990, he made a controversial switch to Real Madrid on a free transfer after a contract dispute. At Madrid, he played a key role as a defensive midfielder, known for his intelligence and passing. After spending several seasons at the Bernabéu, he later moved to Valencia, where he finished his playing career. Following retirement, Milla transitioned into coaching, managing Spain’s youth teams and later coaching clubs in Spain and abroad.

Robert Prosinečki is a former midfielder from Croatia. He was born in Germany but his parents were from Yugoslavia. When he was ten, he and his family moved back to Yugoslavia. He moved from youth academies from the German Stuttgarter Kickers to Dinamo Zagreb in the Socialist Republic of Croatia.

Former Spanish attacking midfielder Rafael Martín Vázquez was born and raised in Madrid. He played for Real Madrid (Castilla) in the youth academy. In 1983 he made his first team debut and after seven seasons he left the club in the summer of 1990 for Torino. Martín Vázquez played 38 international matches for the Spanish national football team.

The shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt: first team player size L or XL and the painted Teka sponsor logo and number 10. *This shirt was bought together with other match shirts from Real Madrid.

In this period, shirts were often used in multiple competition matches by whoever started with that number (so often also by multiple players). It is almost certain that it was worn in a match, as reserve competition shirts were only very rarely made.
