Description
Match worn or issued Torino goalkeeper shirt by the club’s second goalkeeper or number #12 in the season 1994-1995. It was most likely worn/issued in a friendly or pre-season match because the sponsor of that season, Bongioanni Caldaia (an Italian manufacturer of heating/cooling systems), is not present on the shirt. The number 12 this season was Luca Pastine.
Luca Pastine is a former Italian goalkeeper who played in Italy in his entire footballing career. Pastine was active at Torino in the periods 1991-1992, 1993-1995 and 1997-2001. The goalkeeper played over 70 matches for Torino. In the 90s, Torino was active in the Serie A until 1996 (after the 1995-96 season). After three seasons they secured promotion to the Serie A again. In the following years Torino struggled to maintain a spot in the first division, being relegated and promoted back to the Serie A several times.
The shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt: correct player size number; the number is present within the material; first team player size XL/XXL; the white label in the neck (commercially available fanshop shirts had a grayish one), and the fully embroidered Lotto logo.
The specific match is unfortunately unknown. Photos are also not available of the goalkeeper wearing this shirt. However, video evidence shows that Torino’s goalkeepers wore multiple shirt designs in this season.
