Description
Match worn or issued Napoli home shirt by the club’s number 4 in the season 1995-1996. The number 4 was most frequently worn by Roberto Bordin.
The 1995-96 season saw Napoli managed by Serbian coach Vujadin Boškov, but the team struggled for consistency in Serie A, finishing in a disappointing 12th place. It was a season of transition, with Napoli unable to challenge for European spots or domestic silverware. The squad featured key players like Giuseppe Taglialatela, Fabio Pecchia, André Cruz and Arturo Di Napoli, but they lacked the depth to compete with Italy’s top teams. In the Coppa Italia, their campaign was short-lived, as they failed to make a deep run. Financial issues continued to affect the club, foreshadowing the difficulties that would follow in the late 1990s.
Former Italian-Libyan midfielder Roberto Bordin spent his entire football playing career in Italy. He played for 10 different Italian club teams, and he was active for Napoli in the period 1993-1997. In his first season at Napoli, 1993-94, he played a total of 30 out of 34 Serie A matches. Napoli finished 6th in the Serie A and did not reach far in the Coppa Italia.
