Description
Match worn or issued Inter Milan / Internazionale home shirt by a number 18 in the season 1991-1992. It’s most likely worn by or issued for a youth team player cause of the high number and the ‘smaller’ size Medium. The players in the first team wore mostly Large or XL.
The first team of Inter Milan had a disappointing 1991-92 season, finishing eighth in Serie A despite high expectations. Managed by Corrado Orrico and later Luis Suárez, the team struggled for consistency. German stars Lothar Matthäus, Jürgen Klinsmann, and Andreas Brehme were key figures, but their impact was not enough to challenge for silverware. Inter also underperformed in the UEFA Cup, exiting early. The season marked a transition period before their resurgence later in the decade.
This shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt: the professionally stitched number in cloth material on the back, but above all the fully embroidered Umbro logo on the chest which on the official replica shirts was screen printed. Furthermore, the Umbro lettering is capitalized which is also not the case on the shirts that were commercially available shirts.
