He started 20 of the 34 Serie A matches with number 4. The number was also worn frequently by midfielder Igor Shalimov (10 times). Furthermore, twice by Pasquale Padalino (but not in this shirt), and once by both Giuseppe Lo Polito and Alessandro Porro (also not in this shirt).

This shirt was used in 5 matches: match 1 versus Inter, match 17 versus Milan, match 21 versus Cagliari, match 28 versus Atalanta and match 33 versus Genoa. The numbers used in the matches 17, 21, 28 are different. The numbers used in the match against Genoa also looks a bit different, but it’s not clearly visible. The shirt is most likely worn in the match against Inter Milan. In this match, the numbers were the same as on the shirt sold here. Mauro Picasso wore the shirt in this match, also in the matches 28 and 33.
Season story
Calcio Foggia 1920 got promoted to Serie A in 1991 after becoming champions of the Serie B in the 1990-91 season. Foggia’s 1991-92 season in Serie A was a memorable one under the guidance of Czech coach Zdeněk Zeman. The team became known for their high-intensity, attacking football, often referred to as “Zemanlandia.” Despite being a relatively small club, Foggia impressed with their fearless style of play and finished 9th in the league. Key players included the attacking trio of Francesco Baiano, Giuseppe Signori, and Roberto Rambaudi, who combined for one of the most exciting forward lines in Italy. Foggia earned admiration for challenging bigger clubs with their entertaining and offensive approach.
With attractive attacking football, Foggia became a mid-table club for three consecutive seasons. In 1995, their fourth Serie A season resulted in the relegation to Serie B. The club is currently active in Serie C.
Mauro Picasso is an Italian former footballer born in 1965. He played mainly as a midfielder and spent most of his career in Italian football. Picasso became known for his hard work, strong positioning, and calm style on the ball.
