Match worn or issued Cagliari long-sleeved home shirt by the club’s number #7 in the season 1992-1993. This number was frequently worn by midfielder Massimiliano Cappioli.
Cappioli is a former Italian football player who played in Italy in his entire career. In the youth teams, he played for local club Pescatori Ostia along the coast, which is a neighborhood of the capital city of Rome. Cappioli joined Roma’s youth academy in 1986 and moved to Cagliari in 1988. In his first season (1988-89) Cagliari won the Serie C1 championship and thereby received promotion to the Serie B. At the end of the next season, in 1990, Cagliari finished third in the Serie B and got promoted to the highest division Serie A. In the 1992-93 season, Cagliari even secured a qualification spot in the UEFA Europa League. After the 1996-97 season, Cagliari got relegated to the Serie B.
This shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt: correct player size and style name/number from felt material; correct first team player size XL, long sleeves (not commercially available) and the fully embroidered Umbro logo which was raised embossed on the commercially available fanshop version.
