Description
Match worn or issued Brazil home shirt by/for a Brazilian international with number #14 in the year 1994. Cafú was the one who wore this number in multiple matches in this period.
It it a shirt from 1994, before Brazil won the 1994 World Cup to get their fourth star above the national crest. In the previous year, 1993, Brazil used a different model shirt. This shirt is made for a player of the Brazilian national football team because: (1) it does not have the Umbro “Official licensed product” patch in the left bottom of the front of the shirt; (2) the club crest with stars and the Umbro logo are flock material, being embroidered on commercial versions, and (3) the numbers, also present in flock material, were never commercially available. The commercial replica fanshop version is available here. Check out the differences with this shirt!
After extensive research, I only found two other shirts that had the same number design as this one. In the 1994 matches, Brazil only played with numbers that did not have the indent on the top right of the numbers. Furthermore, these match shirts did not have the Umbro logo on the bottom of the numbers. Maybe it was a prototype or maybe it was worn by the Under-21s. It is an authentic player shirt for sure.
