Amedeo Carboni was born and raised in Arezzo, an Italian city in the region Tuscany. He played for the youth teams of the local football club Arezzo and he made his senior debut in 1983. He played for Italian clubs until 1997, when he left Roma for Valencia, Spain. Carboni was active for AS Roma in the period 1990-1997. He played over 200 matches for Roma, while he played nearly 500 matches in the 9 years at Valencia (1997-2006).
In this 1994-95 season, Roma finished fifth in the Serie A and went out of the Coppa Italia in the quarter-finals. Carboni played a total of 37 matches this season, of which 30 in the Serie A.
