Description
Match worn or issued AS Roma home shirt from the club’s number 3 Sebastiano Nela during the 1989-1990 season. AS Roma’s club logo, the wolf, was present on the right side of the chest instead of the left side in the 1989-90 season. This was not the case in the previous years and the next seasons.
In almost all Serie A matches, Sebastiano Nela wore the number 3 shirt. In only a few matches, the number was worn by Stefano Pellegrini and in the last Serie A match by Manuel Gerolin.
AS Roma played the 1989–1990 season in Serie A and finished 6th in the league, securing qualification for European competition. AS Roma had a solid but not title-challenging campaign, while in the Coppa Italia they reached the semi-finals. In Europe, Roma competed in the UEFA Cup but were eliminated in the early rounds. The season was part of a consistent period for the club at the end of the 1980s, regularly competing near the top positions in Italy.
Sebastiano Nela is a former Italian defender known for his reliability and versatility, mainly playing as a left-back. Sebastiano Nela spent most of his career at Roma (1981–1992), where he won the Serie A title in 1982–1983 and several Coppa Italia trophies. He was part of the Roma side that reached the European Cup final in 1984. Nela later played for Napoli (1992–1994) before retiring.
The shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt:

- No internal labels (not commercially available). Fanshop shirts from this period had internal labels with the Ennerre brand logo on it.
