Very rare match worn or issued AS Monaco long-sleeved away shirt in the season 1990-1991 by the club’s number 4. The number was worn by both Emmanuel Petit and Franck Sauzée.
Emmanuel Petit is a living French football legend. He played for Monaco (1988–1997), Arsenal (1997–2000), FC Barcelona (2000–2001) and he finished off his career at Chelsea (2001-2004). He was part of the French national football teams that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup (he scored the last goal to beat Brazil with 3-0 in the final) and the 2000 UEFA Euro. Petit played as a defensive midfielder and defender, and he participated in 38 matches in the 1990-91 season in all competitions for Monaco.
Franck Sauzée was also a former French footballer, playing only one season (1990-91) for AS Monaco. He had most of his success at Olympique Marseille, winning the UEFA Champions League in 1993. He was also part of the national football squad of France, from 1988 until 1993.
In this 1990-91 season, Monaco won the Coupe de France and finished 2nd in the Ligue 1 behind Olympique Marseille.
