One of the most rare match worn/issued shirts you will ever find(!!): Match worn or issued long-sleeved Ajax away shirt by the club’s number #2 in the season 1989-1990. The number 2 was almost always worn by club legend Danny Blind.
The former Dutch international Danny Blind played for amateur team VV RCS in the province of Zeeland, the Netherlands, close to where he grew up. He made his senior debut, in the first team, in the year 1978. Already a year later he moved to a first division club: Sparta Rotterdam. After seven seasons in Rotterdam, Blind moved to Ajax. Here he played from 1986 until 1999. After his active football career, he was a youth and assistant coach at Ajax. Danny Blind was appointed assistant coach of the Dutch national team on 6 July 2012, assisting head coach Louis van Gaal. In the period 2015-2017 Blind was head coach of the Dutch national team.
This shirt has all the characteristics of a match shirt: the correct size and style number in felt material on the back, long sleeves (not commercially available), but above all the fully embroidered Umbro logo on the chest which on the official replica shirts was screen printed.
