Match worn Argentina home shirt in 1993 or early 1994 by number 2 Sergio Vázquez. Vázquez was the only player who wore this short sleeved 1993-94 home shirt with number 2 (see table below).

During the same year, Argentina also secured qualification for the 1994 FIFA World Cup after a play-off victory against Australia. Key players included Gabriel Batistuta, Diego Simeone and Fernando Redondo.
Sergio Vázquez was an Argentine midfielder known for his defensive qualities and passing ability. He played for Racing Club de Avellaneda before joining Universidad Católica and later Santos FC. Vázquez was part of the Argentina squad during the early 1990s and played at the 1990 FIFA World Cup, where Argentina reached the final.
The shirt comes from a Spanish collector who received this shirt directly from Paraguayan striker José Cardozo. Sergio Vázquez most likely handed over this shirt to José Cardozo when they both played for CD Universidad Católica (in the period 1993-1994). Internationally, Cardozo played against Sergio Vázquez (Argentina) only ones, in the 1991 Copa América.
