Amazing vintage Italy training/track jacket as worn during the international seasons 1990-1992.
This white version was worn when Gli Azzurri entered the pitch before a match and on the bench, while the blue version was worn during trainings (sold also on Football & Vintage Amsterdam, in XS/Small and Medium). It is claimed by many to be a player issue as there is a ‘IP’-patch sewn on the chest.
IP stands for Italiana Petroli, which is used by the holding API Group for the distribution of fuels (mostly oil). From the second half of the 1980s, the IP brand consolidated its notoriety mostly thanks to the sponsorship of the Italian national football team, a relationship that began in 1987 and continued uninterruptedly for the following decade.
