Arsenal’s period from 1992 to 1994 brought important cup success under manager George Graham. Arsenal finished 10th in the inaugural Premier League season in 1992–1993 but won both the FA Cup and the League Cup, defeating Sheffield Wednesday in both finals. The following 1993–1994 season saw Arsenal finish 4th in the Premier League, but they achieved major European success by winning the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, beating Parma 1–0 in the final in Copenhagen. This two-year period is remembered for strong defensive football and important cup victories despite modest league finishes.
