Jan Vertonghen is a Belgian central defender who started his senior football career at Ajax. After a period at the youth, between 2003 and 2006, he played for the first team until 2012. He loved the city and the city loved him. He was then sold to Tottenham Hotspur, where he played 8 seasons (2012-2020). He is currently active in the Belgian competition for Anderlecht.
